Skyfall is the latest Bond film and the film's release coincided with the 50th anniversary of the series, which began with Dr. No in 1962.
A variety of marketing techniques have been used to gain the public's attention to the release of the movie.

There is an official Twitter page for James Bond related news. It has over 100,000 followers. The Twitter account is used to advertise/promote the movie as well as provide other information such as the movies success and about the actors/actresses

Cross media convergence occurs when two or more different companies come together to release content for a film: Sony is the official distributor of the  movie 'Skyfall' and the biggest cross media convergence, sony owns Colombia pictures who is also another distributor.
The first example of synergy is the Skyfall song made by Adele, Who got nearly 12 million views on YouTube and it was leaked 1 month before the movie to get the fans excited
The second example of the cross media convergence is MGM and             EON partnership to make Skyfall happen. MGM and EON are both production companies they are responsible for planning, filming and editing. EON is known to make James Bond movies
Budget: The film's budget is estimated to be between $150 million and $200 million, compared to the $200 million spent on Quantum of Solace.
